Dr. Ryan Dominguez, M.D.
I am a native southern Californian growing up in the Los
Angeles suburb of Claremont. I then attended the University
of California, San Diego for my undergraduate degree; obtaining
a BS in Biology, and a minor in Spanish Literature. I was
a merit scholar while attending Medical College of Pennsylvania-Hahnemann
School of Medicine, graduating in 1999. I then came back
to California to do my internship at Grossmont Hospital
in La Mesa and finished my residency in Family Medicine
at Long Beach Memorial Hospital.
I started private practice in La Jolla, CA in August of
2002 and now practice both there and in Scripps Ranch.
I developed an interest in Sports Medicine and Preventative
Health and continue those focuses today. In my free time
I enjoy playing soccer, spending time with my family, especially
my 18 month old daughter Simone and of course rooting the
Chargers to victory.

lives. I love helping people with their health and well
being and am currently pursuing a Holistic Healthcare Practitioner

Sue Martin
My name is Sue Martin. I am the surgery scheduling coordinator
for the program. I have worked here for 8 years. I love
what I do, because I get to make the call people have been
waiting for. Patients are excited to hear from me and I
am thrilled every time, to be a part of their journey to
find health.
La Vette Johnson
My name is La Vette Johnson. I have worked for the bariatric
program for nine years, as a Financial Analyst. Over the
years, I have watched the program grow into the center
of excellence that it is today. What I enjoy the most about
my job is the interaction that I have with the patients.
It is very fulfilling to meet a patient on the day of their
pre-operative visit as they begin their journey and see
them again months later when they stop by to request a
financial statement of their account or to purchase vitamins.
A great deal of the time, I do not even recognize them.
It is rewarding to be able to see that what we do here
and all of the hard work really makes a difference in people’s
lives.
Shirley Singletary
Welcome to our practice. My name is Shirley Singletary.
I am an insurance analyst and have been a part of the team
for 9 years. I love what I do so much and it allows me
the gratification of being a part of a new beginning in
a person’s life.
Sandra Talaro
My name is Sandra Talaro and I am one of the insurance
analysts for the program. I have been working with the
doctors for about 7 years. I truly love my job. I feel
so much joy at being a part of helping people start a new
beginning in their life. This gives me so much gratification
being part of this process and to work with great doctors.
Dana Hicks
My name is Dana Hicks and I manage the Front Desk here
in the office for 8 years. What I love most about my
job is the interaction I have with patients before, during
and after surgery. Seeing patients come in for the first
time on their pre-operative day and beginning their journey
of a new and healthy lifestyle is so rewarding. It is
also rewarding to watch patients come into the office
for their follow up visits, to pick up vitamins or just
to stop by and say hello and see the wonderful and positive
changes in them.
Dee Adkins, RMA
A native New Zealander, raised in Southern California
since age 9. As a soldier in the U.S. Army, I was fortunate
to do my tour of duty in Kitzingen, Germany and while
there, visit Paris, France. Being married to a U.S. Marine,
has provided me the opportunity to drive two cross country
road trips, crossing through and visiting over 20 United
States. Though I can say that "Little Rhodi" was
the most beautiful state in the spring time, San Diego
is undoubtedly the most incredible place to be all year
round. If you ever have the opportunity to meet the surgeons
and staff here at Wittgrove Bariatric Center, you couldn't
meet a more genuine caring group of people elsewhere
in the world. I truly look forward to meeting every one
of our patients and having the privilege to learn of
their personal trials, triumphs and adventurous new experiences.
Martha McNaughton
My name is Martha McNaughton; I am the administrated
assistant for Dr. Wittgrove and Tracy Martinez (Program
Director). I am honored to work for the first Doctor that
performed the first laparoscopic gastric bypass as primary
surgeon in the world.
I have been working for Dr. Wittgrove for almost 2 years
and I love what I do, and also enjoy seeing the changes
in our patients.
I enjoy going for walks and I believe in exercising at
least 5 days a week and treating yourself once in a while
to something that you enjoy eating.
I also enjoy working with all of my co-workers here at
Wittgrove Bariatric Center, I think they are all great
people and that's what makes my job a lot easier.
