You Too Can Do What Others Have Done
Barry Wolitzky
As many of you know, 2004-5 was a year in which I made my health and
fitness a priority and made the transition from 370 to 220 lbs. Running
became one of my new passions and in August of 2005, I ran in my first
race, the America's Finest City Half Marathon in San Diego. This was
quite a triumph for someone who only a year before could barely walk
one mile or climb a flight of stairs without losing his breath.
One of my dreams has always been to run a full marathon (26.2 miles!)
and I have become a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team
in Training (TNT) in order to reach this goal. By participating
with TNT, I will be receiving professional training and coaching to achieve
my personal quest for fitness in exchange for raising money towards finding
a cure for leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma.
I am training to run in the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in San Diego, California
on June 3, 2007.
I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling
blood cancers. I also view the fundraising effort as representative of
my longstanding professional commitment to the discovery of medicines
to help cancer patients. So many of us have lost family members or friends
to this horrible disease and we know how crucial research is to finding
new and effective therapies. We need your support to cross the ultimate
finish line - a cure!
Please visit my personal TNT website to
make a secure donation directly to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the
Society's mission. Alternatively, you can help me reach my goal
by sending check donations, made out to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society,

tax deductible!
